If 5A - 2B = 0 and 4B - 5C = 0, then C : A = ?
Question

If 5A - 2B = 0 and 4B - 5C = 0, then C : A = ?

A.

4 : 6

B.

2 : 1

C.

6 : 4

D.

1 : 2

Correct option is B

Given:

5A2B=05A−2B=0 .....(Eq1)

4B5C=04B−5C=0 .........(Eq2)

Ratio C : A = ?

Solution:

From equation (1):

2B=5A2B = 5A

B=5A2B = \frac{5A}{2}

From equation (2):

5C=4B5C = 4B

C=4B5C = \frac{4B}{5}

Now, substitute B=5A2B = \frac{5A}{2} into the equation for CC

C=45×5A2C= \frac{4}{5} \times \frac{5A}{2}

C=20A10C = \frac{20A}{10}

C=2AC= 2A

CA=21\frac{C}{A} = \frac{2}{1}

Thus C : A = 2 : 1
