If (3x+2y):(3x−2y)=5:3(3x+2y):(3x-2y)= 5:3(3x+2y):(3x−2y)=5:3 then find x:yx:yx:y.
Question

If (3x+2y):(3x2y)=5:3(3x+2y):(3x-2y)= 5:3 then find x:yx:y.

A.

83\frac{8}{3}

B.

43\frac{4}{3}

C.

163\frac{16}{3}

D.

323\frac{32}{3}

Correct option is A

Given:

3x+2y3x2y=53\frac{3x + 2y}{3x - 2y} = \frac{5}{3}

Solution:
(3x+2y)×3=(3x2y)×5(3x + 2y) \times 3 = (3x - 2y) \times 5

9x + 6y = 15x - 10y

9x - 15x = -10y - 6y

-6x = -16y

3x = 8y

xy=83\frac{x}{y} = \frac{8}{3}

x : y = 8 : 3
