Correct option is B
Secretion of enzymes is not true about ATP
- Adenosine triphosphate (ATP) is the source of energy for use and storage at the cellular level. The structure of ATP is a nucleoside triphosphate, consisting of a nitrogenous base (adenine), a ribose sugar, and three serially bonded phosphate groups.
- ATP is also formed from the process of cellular respiration in the mitochondria of a cell. This can be through aerobic respiration, which requires oxygen, or anaerobic respiration, which does not. Aerobic respiration produces ATP (along with carbon dioxide and water) from glucose and oxygen.
- The cyclic transformation of ATP to ADP and then back again to ATP is termed as ATP cycle. When the terminal phosphate, from the three phosphate groups in ATP (adenosine triphosphate), is removed, it becomes ADP (adenosine diphosphate) and the energy released is utilised in carrying out any biological function.
