Question

Five persons in a group have salaries of Rs. 15,000, Rs. 25,000, Rs. 30,000, Rs. 12,000 and Rs. 18,000, respectively. What is the average salary (in Rs. ) per person of the group?

A.

18,000

B.

20,000

C.

21,000

D.

19,000

Correct option is B

Formula Used:
Average salary = (Sum of all salaries) ÷ Total number of persons
Solution:
Sum of all salaries = ₹15,000 + ₹25,000 + ₹30,000 + ₹12,000 + ₹18,000 = ₹100,000
Total number of persons = 5
Average salary = ₹100,000 ÷ 5  = ₹20,000
