    Find the total surface area of a cylinder whose radius of base is 7 cm and height is 12 cm.
    Question

    Find the total surface area of a cylinder whose radius of base is 7 cm and height is 12 cm.

    A.

    303π cm²

    B.

    266π cm²

    C.

    208π cm²

    D.

    280π cm²

    Correct option is B

    Given:

    Radius of cylinder (r) =7cm

    Height of cylinder (h)=12cm

    Total surface area = ?

    Formula Used:

    The total surface area A of a cylinder is given by the formula:

    A=2πr(r+h)A = 2\pi r(r + h)

    Where:

    r is the radius of the base,

    h is the height of the cylinder.

    Solution:

    Total surface area of a cylinder A=2πr(r+h)A = 2\pi r(r + h)

    Substituting the values into the formula:

    A = 2π × 7 × (7 + 12)

    A = 2π × 7 × 19

    A = 2π × 133

    A = 266π cm2cm^2

    Thus, the total surface area of the cylinder is 266π cm2cm^2
