Find the number of bricks, each measuring 24 cm ×\times× 12 cm ×\times× 8cm, required to construct a wall 24 m long, 8 m high and 60 cm
Question

Find the number of bricks, each measuring 24 cm ×\times 12 cm ×\times 8cm, required to construct a wall 24 m long, 8 m high and 60 cm thick if 10% of the wall is filled with mortar?

A.

45000

B.

450000

C.

450

D.

4500

Correct option is A

Given:
Measurement of bricks = 24 cm × 12 cm × 8 cm
Measurement of wall = 24m × 8m × 60cm
Formula Used:
Volume of cuboid = Length × Breadth × Height
Number of bricks = Volume of wallVolume of each brick\frac{\text{Volume of wall}}{\text{Volume of each brick}}
Solution:
1 m = 100 cm
Volume of the wall in those bricks to be used = 2400 × 800 × 60 ×90100\frac {90}{100}
Volume of bricks = 24 × 12 × 8
Number of bricks =  Volume of wallVolume of each brick\frac{\text{Volume of wall}}{\text{Volume of each brick}}
=> Number of bricks =  =2400×800×60×9010024×12×8= \frac{2400 \times 800 \times 60 \times \frac{90}{100}}{24 \times 12 \times 8}
=> Number of bricks used= 45,000
