Find the curved surface area of cone whose height is 3 m and radius is 4 m. (approximate value) (The value of π = 227\frac{22}{7}722)
Question

Find the curved surface area of cone whose height is 3 m and radius is 4 m.
(approximate value) (The value of π = 227\frac{22}{7})

A.

63 m²

B.

33 m²

C.

45 m²

D.

79 m²

Correct option is A

Given:
Height = 3 m
Radius = 4 m
Formula Used:
CSA of cone = π × r × l
where slant height, l=r2+h2l = \sqrt{r^2 + h^2}
Solution:
l = 32+42=5 \sqrt {3^2 + 4^2} = 5
CSA of the cone = 22×4×57=62.85\frac{22 \times 4 \times 5}{7} = 62.85
∴ CSA of the cone ≈ 63 sq m
