Question

Find the area of a triangle whose sides are 5 cm, 7 cm and 11 cm.

A.

12.50 cm²

B.

12.97 cm²

C.

12.30 cm²

D.

4. 12.27 cm²

Correct option is B

Given:

Side of the tringle

a = 5 , b = 7 , c = 11

Formula Used:

s(sa)(sb)(sc)\sqrt{s{(s-a)}{(s-b)}{(s-c)}}

Where Sa+b+c2\frac{a+b+c}{2}

Solution:

S = 5+7+112=11.5\frac{5+7+11}{2} = 11.5

=11.5(11.55)(11.57)(11.511) =11.5(6.5)(4.5)(0.5) =11.5(6.5)(4.5)(0.5) =11.5(6.5)(4.5)(0.5) =12.97= \sqrt{11.5{(11.5-5)}{(11.5-7)}{(11.5-11)}} \\\ \\= \sqrt{11.5{(6.5)}{(4.5)}{(0.5)}} \\\ \\= \sqrt{11.5{(6.5)}{(4.5)}{(0.5)}} \\\ \\= \sqrt{11.5{(6.5)}{(4.5)}{(0.5)}} \\\ \\= 12.97
