Solution:
Distinct numbers from all the statements are 3, 9, 5, 7, 1, 8, 4
Statement A: Two of the digits are present in the number 395, but they are not placed correctly.
So, the 2 digits can be 3,9 or 9,5 or 3,5
From Statement B & Statement C
The common numbers are 1 & 8. So this cannot be a possibility.
So, 1, 8, 4 is not a possible number
Since, in the 718, the digits are placed correctly. So 7 will be in hundred places.
Left with 3, 9, 5, 7
From Statements A & D we can conclude 3 & 5 are common but as said in Statement A that the number is not placed correctly.
So, 5 cannot be the number.
Now we are left with 3, 9, 7
So, the Number is 739.
