Question

Balaram sells a Bluetooth device to Krishna at a profit of l2%. Krishna sells it to Arjun at a profit of 10%. If Arjun pays Rs.1,540 for it. what is the cost price of the Bluetooth device for Krishna?

A.

₹1400

B.

₹1250

C.

₹1320

D.

₹1370

Correct option is A

Given:

Balaram sells Bluetooth device to Krishna at profit = 12%

Krishna sells Bluetooth device to Arjun at profit = 10%

Formula Used:

Profit = SP -CP

Profit Percent = ProfitCP×100\frac{Profit}{CP} \times 100

Solution:

Let the CP for Krishna be x

Then Profit for Krishna = 10% of x= 0.1x

Then selling price for Krishna  = x + 0.1x = 1.1x

But Krishan sold Bluetooth device for ₹1540

1.1x = 1540

x=15401.1=1400 \frac{1540}{1.1} = ₹1400
