Ankita sold her watch at 5% loss. If she had sold it for ₹ 300 more, she would have gained 5%. Find the selling price of the watch.

For Loss , SP = $$\text {CP} \times \left(1-\frac{loss \%}{100} \right)$$ 

For Profit,  SP = $$\text {CP} \times \left(1+\frac{Profit \%}{100} \right)$$ 

SP when there is 5% loss,

​$$\text {SP}_{loss} = 100x \times \left( \frac{95}{100} \right) = 95x$$ 

SP when there is 5% gain.

​$$\text {SP}_{profit} = 100x \times \left( \frac{105}{100} \right) = 105x$$ 

Now,   $$\text{SP}_{profit} - \text{SP}_{loss} = 300$$ 

105x - 95x = 300

10x = 300 

x = 30  

Now,  CP = 100$$\times 30 = ₹3000$$ 

So, SP at loss = $$3000 \times \frac{95}{100} = ₹2850$$ ​
