Question

An amount of money is to be divided between Paras, Ramesh and Aarav in the ratio of 5 : 8 : 15. If the difference between Ramesh and Aarav's share is Rs. 6000, then find the total amount of money?

A.

Rs. 63995

B.

Rs. 24000

C.

Rs. 52003

D.

Rs. 28361

Correct option is B

Given:
The ratio of the distribution of money among Paras, Ramesh, and Aarav = 5 : 8 : 15
The difference between Ramesh and Aarav's share = Rs. 6000
Solution:
Let the money got by Paras, Ramesh, and Aarav be 5x, 8x, and 15x.
Given,
15x - 8x = Rs 6000
7x = 6000
x = 60007\frac{6000}{7}
Total amount = 5x + 8x + 15x = 28x
Total amount =60007\frac{6000}{7}× 28
Total amount = Rs 24,000
∴ The total amount is Rs 24,000.
