    A wire in the form of a circle of radius 56 m is cut and again bent in the form of a square. What is the measure of the diagonal of the square?
    Question

    A wire in the form of a circle of radius 56 m is cut and again bent in the form of a square. What is the measure of the diagonal of the square?

    A.

    85385 \sqrt3 m

    B.

    90290 \sqrt2 m

    C.

    80280 \sqrt2 m

    D.

    88288 \sqrt2

    Correct option is D

    Given:
    Radius of circle = 56 m
    Concept Used:
    Circumference of the circle = Perimeter of the square
    Formula Used:
    Circumference = 2πr
    Perimeter of square = 4 × side
    Diagonal of square = 2\sqrt {2} × side
    Solution:
    Circumference = 2πr = 2 × 227\frac{22}7 × 56 = 352 m
    Perimeter of square = 4 × side => 4s = 352 => s = 88 m
    Diagonal of square = 2×side=2×88=882 m\sqrt{2} \times \text{side} = \sqrt{2} \times 88 = 88\sqrt{2} \, \text{m}
