Let the total capacity of the vessel be $$x$$​ cups.

Initially, the vessel is one-fourth full, so the amount of water in the vessel is: = $$\frac{x}{4}$$

After adding 10 cups of water, the vessel becomes three-fourth full, so the amount of water is: = $$\frac{3x}{4}$$ 

The difference between the water levels before and after adding 10 cups is equal to 10 cups:  = $$\frac{3x}{4}-\frac{x}{4}=10$$ 

​$$\frac{3x-x}{4}=10$$ 

$$\frac{2x}{4}=10$$ , $$\frac{x}{2}=10$$​​

​$$x= 10\times2=20$$

The capacity of vassel is 20 cups.

Thus the correct answer is (A)
