Question

A seller professes to sell his fruits at cost price but still gains 5519%5\frac{5}{19}\%

How much does he give for 1kg ?

A.

905gm

B.

5gm

C.

900gm

D.

950gm

Correct option is D

Given:

Profit = 5519%5\frac{5}{19}\%

Concept Used:

Profit = selling price - cost price

5519%=1195\frac{5}{19}\% = \frac{1}{19}

Solution:

Let cost price = 19

Profit is 119×ofcp \frac{1}{19}\times of cp =  19/19 =1

So selling price = 20

According to question

cpsp=Actual weightShowing weight=1920\frac{cp}{sp} =\frac{Actual\ weight }{Showing\ weight } =\frac{19}{20}

If showing weight is 20 g than actual weight = 19g

Showing weight is 1000 g than actual weight = 950g
