Question

A profit of Rs 30,000 is to be divided among A, B and C in the ratio of 3:5:7. What will be the difference between the amounts of B and C?

A.

Rs. 10,000

B.

Rs. 4000

C.

Rs. 14,000

D.

Rs. 2000

Correct option is B

Given:
Total profit = Rs. 30,000
Ratio of A, B and C = 3 : 5 : 7
Solution:
Sum of ratio parts:
3 + 5 + 7 = 15
B's share:
515×\frac {5}{15}\times 30000 = 13×\frac {1}{3}\times 30000 = 10000
C's share:
715×\frac {7}{15}\times 30000 = 14000
Difference between B and C:
14000 - 10000 = Rs. 4000
Thus, correct option is (b).
