Question

A cube has a surface area of 294 m². What is the length (in cm) of the side of the cube?

A.

0.7 m

B.

700 cm

C.

0.7 cm

D.

700 m

Correct option is B

Given:
Surface Area (S) = 294 m2
Formula Used:
Surface Area of a Cube = 6 × (Side)2
Where, Side = length of one edge of the cube
Solution:
294 = 6 × (Side)2
=> (Side)2 = 294 ÷ 6
=> (Side)2 = 49
=> Side = √49
=> Side = 7 m
=> Side in cm = 7 × 100
=> Side = 700 cm
