Question

A bus ticket costs ₹24,800 for a capacity of 800 seats. It incurs ₹8,000 in transportation expenses. To earn a profit of ₹10 per seat, at what price should each seat be sold?

A.

₹51

B.

₹12

C.

₹76

D.

₹32

Correct option is A

Given:
Ticket cost for 800 seats = ₹24,800
Transportation expenses = ₹8,000
Profit per seat = ₹10
Total seats = 800
Solution:
Total Cost = ₹24,800 + ₹8,000 = ₹32,800
Total Profit = 10 × 800 = ₹8,000
Selling Price per Seat = 32,800+8,000800=40,800800 \frac{₹32,800 + ₹8,000}{800} = \frac{₹40,800}{800} = ₹51
Thus, The selling price per seat should be ₹51.
