Correct option is C

Given:

A boy has a total of Rs.60, which is a sum of one rupee, 50 paise, and 25 paise coins in the ratio 5 : 6 : 8.

Solution:

Let, a number of 1 rupee coins be 5x, a number of 50 paise coins be 6x and that of 25 paise coins be 8x.

Then, according to question:

1 × 5x + 0.50 × 6x + 0.25 × 8x = 60

→ 5x + 3x + 2x = 60

→ x = 60 ÷ 10

→ x = 6

Therefore, the number of 25 paise coins is = 8x = 8 × 6 = 48.
