SSC CGL Tier 1 Exam Pattern 2026

Candidates should know the SSC CGL Exam Pattern before proceeding to the syllabus topics. The SSC CGL Tier 1 Exam will be conducted in a Computer-Based Test (CBT) consisting of 100 objective-type questions carrying a total of 200 marks. The exam is divided into four sections – English Comprehension, General Awareness, General Intelligence & Reasoning, and Quantitative Aptitude. Each section will have 25 questions for 50 marks, making all sections equally important.

Candidates will get 60 minutes to complete the paper, while scribe candidates will be given 1 hour 20 minutes. There is negative marking of 0.50 marks for every wrong answer.

SSC CGL Tier 2 Exam Pattern 2026

There are two papers in the Tier 2 Exam: Paper 1 and Paper 2. Paper 1 is compulsory for all Posts, whereas Paper 2 is only for the Junior Statistical Officer post. Check the details of both papers in the table below.
