Educational Qualification And Age Limits

Clerk Passed School Final/Madhyamik or its equivalent. Minimum 18 years, maximum 40 years. Passed the medium of instruction language at Secondary or a higher level.
Group D Staff Passed Class VIII from a recognized school. Minimum 18 years, maximum 40 years. Passed the medium of instruction language up to Class VIII or a higher level.

Note:

  • The upper age limit is relaxable for Scheduled Castes, Scheduled Tribes, OBC, and Physically Handicapped candidates as per State Government norms.
  • All candidates must be citizens of India.
  • Individuals convicted by a court of law or dismissed from service are not eligible.

WBSSC Group C and D Selection Process 2025

The selection for all non-teaching posts, including Librarian, Clerk, and Group D Staff, is conducted through a direct recruitment process by the West Bengal Central School Service Commission (Central Commission). The selection is based on a State Level Selection Test, which includes a written examination and an interview.

Clerk

Group D Staff

The selection is based on a written exam and an interview.

  • Total: 50 marks.

An interview list is prepared for candidates who qualify based on their preliminary merit score, and the number of candidates called for an interview is no more than twice the number of final vacancies. The final merit list and panel are prepared based on the aggregate score, which includes the interview marks.
