Let radius of base = r and Height = h. Then,
Slant height, l = √h2 + r2 units.

গোলক(SPHERE)
Let the radius of the sphere be r. Then,
Volume = (4/3 πr3) cubic units.

Solution:
Volume required in the tank = (200 x 150 x 2) m3 = 60000 m3
Length of water column flown in 1 min. = (20 x 1000/60) m = 1000/3 m.
Volume flown per minute = (1.5 x 1.25 x 1000/3) m3 = 625 m3
Required time = (60000/625) min
= 96 min
Example 2
Q. Find the volume and surface area of a sphere of radius 10.5 cm.
Solution:
Volume = 4/3 πr3
=(4/3 x 22/7 x 21/2 x 21/2 x 21/2) cm3
= 4851 cm3
Surface Area = 4πr2
= (4 x 22/7 x 21/2 x 21/2) cm2
= 1386 cm2
Example 3-
Q. Find the length of the longest pole that can be placed in a room 12 m long, 3 m broad, and 9 m high.
Solution:
Length of longest pole = Length of the diagonal of the room
= √(12)2 + (8)2 +(9)2
= √289
= 17 m.
