Who is a Bank PO?

A Bank PO is an Assistant Manager of Scale I in any of the Public Sector Bank in India. A Probationary Officer is a Junior Manager of Grade I. A lucrative career option and a white collar job, the position of Bank PO is considered to be a highly dignified position in India. The candidate selected after Bank PO Exam undergoes a probation period of 2 years during which he is trained on all domains required for smooth working of a Bank. Every year all the Government and Public Sector Banks conduct Bank PO exams to recruit young officers. The Banks participating in this process are:

SBI PO exam and the IBPS PO exam are the two major exams conducted every year to select Probationary Officers for all the participating Banks. What is Bank PO Salary?

The Probationary Officers are paid quite handsomely by the Banks. The basic pay of a SBI PO is Rs23,700/-. In addition to this basic pay, the officers are also eligible for Dearness Allowance (DA), House Rent Allowance (HRA), CCA, special allowance etc. The total salary thus amounts to Rs. 40,239/- per month.

The salary is almost same for the post of POs in almost all the banks. A little variation can be noticed in the salary in accordance with the location an officer is posted in.

Bank PO Recruitment 2019

The SBI PO exam will be conducted on 8th, 9th, 15th & 16th June 2019. The Mains Exam will of SBI PO 2019 will be conducted on 20th July 2019. IBPS conducts IBPS PO every year to hire probationary officers for multiple banks in India. This year the preliminary exam for IBPS PO is scheduled on 13th, 14th, 20th and 21st October 2018. The selected candidates can give the mains exam scheduled on 18th of November, 2018.

What is Bank PO syllabus?

Bank PO Recruitment is done in generally three steps. The first two phases Preliminary Exam and Mains Exam are Online Multiple Choice Question type test. The third step is the interview process. Candidates selected after the first two rounds are eligible for the interview round. After getting selected in these three rounds a merit list is generated based on the candidate’s performance in the Interview Process.

syllabus of Bank PO exam is designed to assess the candidate’s aptitude as well as his general awareness on all Banking and Financial Matters. The preliminary paper is divided into three sections- Quantitative Aptitude, Reasoning and Verbal Ability. The mains paper contain five sections: General Awareness, Computer Knowledge, Quantitative Aptitude, Reasoning and Verbal Ability.

Future Prospect

The growth in this field is quite fast. You can jump to Grade II officer within 3-5 years of your service. The Bank PO is required to give few written examination and go through an interview process to get promoted to a higher designation.
