· Pradhan Mantri Jan Dhan Yojana (PMJDY) achieved a Guinness World Record for the most bank accounts opened in one week. Over 18 million bank accounts were opened from August 23 to August 29, 2014.
· This financial inclusion scheme was launched by Prime Minister Narendra Modi on August 28, 2014 to ensure access to financial services such as banking, savings and deposit accounts, remittance, credit, insurance, and pension in an affordable manner.
Key Features:
