A.

48

B.

36

C.

24

D.

60

Correct option is C

Given:

When 24 is subtracted from a number, it reduces to 60%

Solution:

Let the number be x

Then according to question:

x24=60%ofxx -24 = 60\% of x

x24=3x5x -24 = \frac{3x}{5}

x3x5=24x - \frac{3x}{5} =24

x=60x= 60

Number is 60

Now two-fifth of 60 = 25×60=24 \frac{2}{5}\times 60 = 24
