Question

A.

60%

B.

65%

C.

54.5%

D.

55.5%

Correct option is C

Given:
The successive discount are 30% and 35%.
Formula Used:
Successive discount = X + Y - XY100\frac{XY}{100}
Where,
X = First discount
Y = Second discount
Solution:

Successive discount = X + Y - XY100\frac{XY}{100}
X = 30%, Y = 35%
=> 30 + 35 - 30×35100\frac{30 \times 35}{100}
=> 65-10.5 = 54.5%
∴ The single equivalent discount is 54.5%.
