Question

A customer buys two products, each product being worth Rs. 350, with a “buy one get one 30% off” deal. What is the total amount paid by the customer?

A.

Rs. 595

B.

Rs. 490

C.

Rs. 560

D.

Rs. 455

Correct option is A

Given:

Cost of each product = Rs. 350

Number of products = 2

Offer: Buy one get one 30% off (30% discount on one product)

Formula Used:

Discount = Marked Price × Discount %100\frac{\text{Discount \%}}{100}

Solution:

Price of first product = Rs. 350 (no discount)

Discount on second product

30% of 350 = 0.30 ×  350 = 105

Price of second product after discount

= 350 - 105 = 245

Total amount paid = 350 + 245 = Rs. 595
