Question

The ratio of the length to the breadth of a rectangular field is 7 : 6. If the breadth is 35 m less than the length, then the perimeter of the field is:

A.

910 m

B.

930 m

C.

940 m

D.

920 m

Correct option is A

Given:
The ratio of length to breadth of the rectangular field is 7:6.
The breadth is 35 m less than the length.
Formula Used:
Perimeter of Rectangle = 2 ×\times (Length + Breadth)
Solution:
Let the length of the rectangular field be 7x and the breadth be 6x
7x - 6x = 35
x = 35
Length = 7x = 7 ×\times 35 = 245 m
Breadth = 6x = 6 ×\times 35 = 210 m
Perimeter = 2 ×\times (245 + 210) = 2 ×\times 455 = 910 m
Thus, the perimeter of the field is 910 meters.
