Question

The ratio of the age of Naresh to that of Suresh is 6 : 5 and the sum of their ages is 44 years. The ratio of their respective ages after 15 years will be:

A.

39 : 35

B.

30 : 35

C.

34 : 39

D.

39 : 34

Correct option is A

Given: -

Age ratio (Naresh : Suresh) = 6:5 -

Sum of ages = 44 years

Formula Used:

Age ratio = Sum of individual ages after a certain time.

Solution:

Let Naresh's age = 6x and Suresh's age = 5x.

According to the given sum: 6x + 5x = 44

11x = 44

-> x = 4

Naresh's current age = 6 × 4 = 24 years

Suresh's current age = 5 × 4 = 20 years

After 15 years, Naresh's age = 24 + 15 = 39 years

After 15 years, Suresh's age = 20 + 15 = 35 years

The ratio of their ages after 15 years = 39:35.
