The product of two positive numbers is 972 and their quotient is 4/3. The numbers are:

The product of the two numbers = 972

The quotient of the two numbers = $$\frac{4}{3}​$$   

Let the number be 4x and 3x 

then, 

​$$4x \times 3x = 972 \\\Rarr 12x^2 = 972 \\ \Rarr x^2 = \frac{972}{12} = 81 \\ \Rarr x = 9$$ 

Now,  the number be ;

4x = $$4\times9 = 36$$ ,  3x = $$3 \times 9 = 27$$
