Question

The length of a rectangular plot is 60% more than its breadth. If the difference between the length and the breadth of that rectangle is 30 cm , what is the perimeter of that rectangle?

A.

300 cm

B.

260 cm

C.

330 cm

D.

270 cm

Correct option is B

Given:

Length of a rectangular plot is 60% more than its breadth

Difference between length and breadth is = 30cm

Formula Used:

Perimeter = 2(l+b)

where, l is length and b is breadth

Solution:

Let the breadth be x

Then length = x + 60% of x = 1.6x

1.6x - x = 30

0.6x = 30

x=300.6 \frac{30}{0.6} = 50cm

Length = 1.6x =50×1.6 50 \times 1.6 = 80cm

Perimeter = 2(50+80) = 260cm
