    Question

    The LCM of two numbers is 1728 and their HCF is 4. If one of the numbers is 64, then the other number is:

    A.

    54

    B.

    216

    C.

    108

    D.

    144

    Correct option is C

    Given:

    One of two numbers = 64

    Their HCF and LCM are 4 and 1728 respectively

    Formula Used:

    Product of two numbers = HCF ×\times LCM

    Solution:

    Let the other number be xx

    x×64=HCF×LCM=4×1728x \times 64 = HCF \times LCM = 4 \times 1728

    x=4×172864x= \frac{4 \times1728}{64}

    x=108x= 108

    Thus, the other number is 108
