    Question

    The LCM and the HCF of two numbers are 5005 and 77, respectively. When one of the two numbers is divided by 55 , the quotient is 18 and the remainder is 11 . The other number is:

    A.

    330

    B.

    385

    C.

    418

    D.

    440

    Correct option is B

    Given:

    LCM of two numbers = 5005

    HCF of two numbers = 77

    When one number is divided by 55 Quotient is 18 and remainder is 11

    Formula Used:

    HCF ×\times LCM = Product of two numbers

    Dividend = Quotient ×\times Divisor + Remainder

    Solution:

    One of the numbers will be:

    Dividend = 55 ×\times 18 + 11

    = 990+11= 1001

    If the other number is x

    Then

    5005×77=1001×x5005 \times 77 = 1001 \times x

    x = 5005×771001\frac{5005 \times 77}{1001}= 385
