Given:

Carpet size = 6 m ×\times4 m.​

Formula Used :

Area of a rectangle = length ×\times​ breadth

Number of carpets = (Area of the floor)  (Area of one carpet)\frac{\text{ (Area of the floor) }}{\text{ (Area of one carpet)}}​​

Solution:

Area of the hall = 30 m ×\times 24 m = 720 m²​

Area of one carpet = 6 m×\times 4 m = 24 m²​

Number of carpets = (Area of the hall)  (Area of one carpet)\frac{\text{ (Area of the hall) }}{\text{ (Area of one carpet)}}​​

Number of carpets = 720m224m2\frac{720 m² }{24 m² }​= 30

Therefore, 30 carpets are required to cover the floor of the hall.

Alternate Method:

Number of carpets required along the length = Length of hall  Length of carpet=306\frac{\text{ Length of hall }}{\text{ Length of carpet}} = \frac{30 } 6 ​= 5

Number of carpets required along the breadth =Breadth of hall Breadth of carpet=244=6 \frac{\text{Breadth of hall }}{\text{Breadth of carpet}} =\frac{ 24 }{ 4} = 6​​

Total number of carpets required = 5 ×\times6 = 30​
