Question

The angle of elevation of the top of a tower from a point on the ground, which is 48 m away from the foot of the tower is 30°. Find the height of the tower.

A.

15315\sqrt{3} m

B.

18318\sqrt{3} m

C.

12312\sqrt{3} m

D.

16316\sqrt{3} m

Correct option is D

Given:
Horizontal distance = 48m,
Angle of elevation =30= 30^\circ
Solution:

Assume, height of tower be h.

tan30=h48\tan 30^\circ=\frac{h}{48}
13=h48\frac{1}{\sqrt{3}}=\frac{h}{48}

h=483=163 m\frac{48}{\sqrt{3}}=16\sqrt{3}\ \text{m}
Height of the tower =163\text{Height of the tower }=16\sqrt{3} m
