After 9 years, age ratio = 7 : 6

Solution:

Let present ages be 4x and 3x.

Then after 9 years:

​$$\frac{4x + 9}{3x + 9} = \frac{7}{6}$$​​

6(4x + 9) = 7(3x + 9)

24x + 54 = 21x + 63

3x = 9

x = 3

Misha’s age = 4x = 12 years

Kamal’s age = 3x = 9 years

Difference = 12 - 9 = 3 years
