    Straight lines drawn inside a rectangle can create multiple rectangles of different sizes. The lines can intersect each other. We have to make 9 sub rectangles from the given original rectangle.

    Concept:

    Draw equal vertical and horizontal lines to make 9 sub rectangles, since 9 is a perfect square.

    Solution:

    Since 9 is a perfect square so number of horizontal lines must be equal to number of vertical lines.

    If we take 1 horizontal and 1 vertical lines then it divides our rectangle into 9 rectangles.

    So total number of lines to be drawn is 2

    Rectangles are ABDE, BCEF, DEGH, EFIH, ABGH, BCIH, ACDF, DFGI, ACGI

    there are total 9 rectangles.
