Correct option is A
Aryabhata was
India’s first indigenously built satellite, launched on
April 19, 1975, by the
Soviet Union using the
Kosmos-3M rocket from the
Kapustin Yar launch site. The satellite was named after the ancient Indian mathematician
Aryabhata. It was developed by the
Indian Space Research Organisation (ISRO).
Aryabhata was designed for
scientific experiments in X-ray astronomy, solar physics, and aeronomy. Though it suffered a
power failure after five days, it was a
major milestone in India's space program.
