Given:

Distance D = 184 km.

Time downstream td_d​ = 12 h → downstream speed vd=18412_d = \dfrac{184}{12}​ km/h.

Time upstream tu_u​ = 48 h → upstream speed vu=18448_u = \dfrac{184}{48}​ km/h.

If boat speed in still water = b, stream speed = s: vd=v_d = b + s, vu=_u =​ b - s.

Formula Used:

v =Dt. \dfrac{D}{t}.​​

s=vdvu2 b=vd+vu2s = \dfrac{v_d - v_u}{2} \\ \ \\ b = \dfrac{v_d + v_u}{2}​​
