Find the surface area of a sphere whose diameter is equal to 18 cm.
Question

Find the surface area of a sphere whose diameter is equal to 18 cm.

A.

69π\pi cm2\text{cm}^2

B.

324π\pi  cm2\text{cm}^2

C.

792π\pi cm2\text{cm}^2

D.

886π\pi cm2\text{cm}^2

Correct option is B

Given:

Diameter of sphere = 18cm

Formula Used:

Total surface area = 4πr24\pi r^2

Solution:

Radius of sphere = 182 \frac{18}{2} = 9cm

Total surface area = 4π(9)2 4 \pi (9)^2

=4×π×81= 4 \times \pi \times 81

=324π cm2= 324\pi \ cm^2
