    • Recently, Manu Bhaker became the first Indian female shooter to win an Olympic medal after bagging the women's 10m air pistol bronze.

    • She (Belongs to Haryana’s Jhajjar) became the first Indian woman to win a medal in shooting at the Olympics.

    • The 22-year-old Manu Bhaker shot 221.7 to finish third in the eight-woman final. 

    • Oh Ye Jin of the Republic of Korea won the gold medal with a new Olympic record of 243.2

    • With this medal she joined an exclusive club of Indian Olympic medalists, which previous had just four male shooters.

    • Rajyavardhan Singh Rathore won the India's first Olympic medal in shooting with a silver medal in the men's double trap at Athens 2004. 

    • Abhinav Bindra won the India's only gold medal in shooting in the men's 10m air rifle at Beijing 2008.

    • Gagan Narang (men's 10m air rifle) and Vijay Kumar (men's 25m rapid fire pistol) won the silver and bronze medal respectively at the London 2012 Games.

    • Two-time Olympic medallist PV Sindhu (Badminton) and four-time Olympian Sharath Kamal (table tennis player) were the flag bearers of India.

    • Four-time Olympian and 2012 men's 10m air rifle bronze medallist Gagan Narang replaced Mary Kom as the Chef-de-Mission of India's Paris 2024 Olympics contingent.

    • The 2024 Summer Olympics (33rd) in Paris are scheduled  from July 26 to August 11, 2024. 

    • This will be followed by the Paralympic Games, which will be held from August 28 to September 8, 2024.

    •  Les Phryges are the Paris 2024 mascots. Phryge represents one of the great symbols of France, strongly associated with the French Revolution.

    • The 2024 Paris Olympics will feature 32 sports, including 4 new additions - breaking, sport climbing, skateboarding, and surfing.

    • Breaking will make its Olympic debut, while sport climbing, skateboarding and surfing are all set to appear at the Games for just the second time after featuring at Japan Olympics
