    Question

Atulit has 100 apples. He gave 10% of the apples to Arnav, 15% of the apples to Keshav and 25\frac{2}{5}th of the apples to Rinku. How many apples are left with Atulit after distribution?

    A.

    45

    B.

    25

    C.

    35

    D.

    15

    Correct option is C

    Given:
    Total apples = 100
10% of apples given to Arnav
15% of apples given to Keshav
2/5 of apples given to Rinku
    Formula Used:
Apples left = Total apples - (Apples given to Arnav + Apples given to Keshav + Apples given to Rinku)
    Solution:
    Apples given to Arnav = 10% of 100 = 100 × 10100\frac{10}{100} = 10 apples

    Apples given to Keshav = 15% of 100 = 100 × 15100\frac{15}{100} = 15 apples
    Apples given to Rinku = 25\frac 25 of 100 = 40 apples
    Total apples distributed = 10 + 15 + 40 = 65 apples
    Apples left with Atulit = 100 - 65 = 35 apples.
Therefore, Atulit has 35 apples left after the distribution.
