Question

An amount of Rs.62 is divided among A, B and C such that A gets Rs.12 more than B and B gets Rs.10 more than C. what is the ratio of their share?

A.

8:3:2

B.

15:9:4

C.

16:10:5

D.

3:2:1

Correct option is C

Given:-

A gets Rs. 12 more than B,
B gets Rs. 10 more than C.

Solution:-

C's share be x.

Then, B's share = x + 10

A's share = x + 10 + 12 = x + 22

Total share = x + (x + 10) + (x + 22) = 3x + 32

Given, 3x + 32 = 62

=> 3x = 30

=> x = 10

So, A's share = 10 + 22 = 32
B's share = 10 + 10 = 20
C's share = 10

Therefore, the ratio of their shares is 32:20:10, which simplifies to 16:10:5.
