Question

Among seven people A, B, C, D, E, F and G, scored different marks (out of 100) in an exam. A scored the highest. G’s marks were a multiple of 9, but more than 85. Nobody scored more than 92. The sum of the marks of G and F was 150. D scored more than only E. C scored more than F and less than B. E scored 33 marks. Which of the following can be a possible score for D?

A.

30

B.

63

C.

48

D.

62

Correct option is C

Given:
A = highest → A = 92
G = multiple of 9 > 85 and ≤ 92 → G = 90
G + F = 150 → F = 60
E = 33
D > E, but only E is below D → D is second-lowest
So D > 33 but < 60
From options:
Only 48 fits: >33 and <60
Thus, correct option is (c).
