Time T = 3 years

Amount A = ₹8,500

We are to find the Simple Interest (SI)

Formula Used:

Amount = Principal + SI

SI = P×R×T100\frac{P \times R \times T}{100}​​

Solution:

Let the principal be P, Then:

8500 = P + P×12×3100\frac{P \times 12 \times 3}{100}​​

8500 = P(1+36100) P \left(1 + \frac{36}{100} \right)​​

8500 = P×136100 P \times \frac{136}{100}​​

P = 8500×100136 \frac{8500 \times 100}{136} ​= ₹6250

Now,

SI = ₹8500 - ₹6250 = ₹250
