A sum of ₹8,415 is divided between A. B and C such that the ratio of the share of B to the combined shares of A and C is 3 : 8 and the ratio of C's share to the combined share of A and B is 4 : 11. What is the share of A?

Total amount = Rs. 8,415

Ratio of B's share to the combined share of A and C = 3 : 8

Ratio of C's share to the combined share of A and B = 4 : 11 

Solution: ​

B : A + C = 3 : 8  (multiplying by 15)  =  45 : 120

C : A + B = 4 : 11 (multiplying by 11) = 44 : 121 

Now, Sum of ratio of A + B + C = 165 (from both case) 

Hence, B = 45,  C = 44 and A = 76 

So, A = $$\frac{8415}{165}\times 76 = ₹3876$$​​
