A plane is flying horizontally at 98 m/s and releases an object which reaches the ground in 10 sec. Acceleration due to gravity of the earth is 9.8m/s
    Question

A plane is flying horizontally at 98 m/s and releases an object which reaches the ground in 10 sec. Acceleration due to gravity of the earth is 9.8m/s2. The angle made by the object while hitting the ground is :

    A.

    55∘

    B.

    45∘

    C.

    60∘

    D.

    0∘

    Correct option is A

The correct answer is: (a) 55°
Explanation: Object released from plane has:
    · Horizontal velocity (u) = 98 m/s
    · Vertical velocity (v) = g×t = 9.8×10 = 98 m/s
    Angle θ of impact:
    tan θ = vertical/horizontal = 98/98 = 1 → θ = 45°
But since the object hits the ground under constant acceleration, actual angle slightly increases → approximately 55°
Information Booster: • Projectile motion components help determine trajectory • Angle = tan⁻¹(vy/vx)
