Question

A man purchased a fan which had a printed price of ₹200. If he received two successive discounts of 30% and 20%, then how much did he pay for the fan?

A.

₹115

B.

₹108

C.

₹112

D.

₹90

Correct option is C

Given:

Printed price = ₹200,

Successive discount of 30%, 20%

Solution:

Frist discount 30% = 200×\times30100\frac{30}{100} = 60,

So , Price after first discount = 200-60 = 140

second discount 20% = 140×\times20100\frac{20}{100}= 28,

Price after second discount = 140 - 28 = ₹112
