Given:

Loss of businessman on selling price = 12.5%

Formula Used:

Loss%=LossCost Price×100Loss \% = \frac{Loss}{Cost\ Price} \times 100​​

Loss = CP - SP

Solution:

Let the selling price be 100

Then loss on selling price = 12.5% of 100 = 12.5

CP = SP + Loss  = 100 + 12.5 = 112.5

Loss Percentage =12.5112.5×100=1009=1119% \frac{12.5}{112.5} \times 100 =\frac{100}{9}= 11\frac{1}{9}\%​​
