    Question

16 is related to 62 following a certain logic. Following the same logic, 12 is related to 46. To which of the given options is 21 related to, following the same logic? (NOTE: Operations should be performed on the whole numbers, without breaking down the numbers into their constituent digits. E.g. 13 – Operations on 13 such as adding/subtracting/multiplying to 13 can be performed. Breaking down 13 into 1 and 3 and then performing mathematical operations on 1 and 3 is not allowed.)

    A.

    86

    B.

    82

    C.

    80

    D.

    84

    Correct option is B

    Given:
    16 is related to 62
    12 is related to 46
We need to find the number related to 21.
    Logic: 2nd Number = 1st Number ×\times 4 - 2
    16 × 4 − 2 = 64 − 2 = 62
    12 × 4 − 2 = 48 − 2 = 46
Applying the Same  Logic to 21
    21 × 4 − 2 = 84 - 2 = 82
Thus, the correct option is (b) 82
